Divinity: The Gathering by Susan Reid

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 9:17:00 am

Divinity: The Gathering (Divinity Saga, #1)Divinity: The Gathering by Susan Reid
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW! Amazing Read! I couldn't put the book down. the story was so intricate and the characters so interesting. I love books about fallen Angels and this one has quickly flown to the top of my 10 most loved list.

My favourite of all was Cam of course how could it not. He was such a wonderful and heartbreaking character who loved and wanted to be loved so much. He knows he must be with her even if its technically forbidden, and he doesn't much care, As long as she needs him he will protect her. He was the warrior and the protector and no matter his circumstance he never compromised or changed himself for anyone.

Star was an incredible individual who didn't take crap and even though she was scared stood up for herself and others. Her story was tragic and heartbreaking but she didn't let it change her life and who she was. Her Divine gift sets her apart from others and her nightmares drive her to the edge of insanity but still she holds on, never fearing it will all come together in the end.

Morning Star was incredible in this book. He was witty, scary and dark as Hell itself. I would not want to come up against him. He is a larger then life character in a lot of peoples eyes which makes it him a hard character to write about and I think Susan nailed it perfectly!

I believe that Susan is a amazing author and I can't wait to read more of Cam and Stars story. This is the kind of book that could stand on its own or be put in a series. I think Susan went above and beyond when it came to describing the people and places. The story was incredible the characters witty and fun and the battles epic. If you haven't yet read it get you copy today!

"No one knows WHEN the world will end but how do you go on, when you’ve seen HOW it will end? If the dark ones don’t kill me first...I'll tell everyone."--- Starling Marie Roberts.

College Sophomore Starling Roberts is afraid of the dark because she has known this all her life.
They shadow beings are real and she can see them.

Plagued with nightmares of the invasion of Earth by the Dark fallen and ultimately Morning Star isn't an easy burden to carry, especially when the darkness is after you for the very thing that makes each one of us stand apart from them...our Divinity.

Starling is rare and unique.

Her past obstacles and devastations have wilted her own beliefs, leaving her to begin questioning her own purpose and faith.
But that begins to change when the dark shadows begin attacking her mentally...and physically.

Starling has been chosen, one of hundreds of thousands. But her rare divinity has placed her on the top most wanted list by the dark fallen and she has become the target of a planned catastrophic and deadly event gathered, controlled and led by Morning Star himself.
Star's only hope to remain alive and sane---Cam`ael, a renegade, dark fallen Incubus who lusts for her and Drakael—an Angel determined to keep her from him.

This is her Chronicle, pulled and put together from her own personal journals now known as The Book of Starling.
Combined with the journals of Cam`ael; Former Chief Angel of all Powers in his own words and at his own personal request.

The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 7:22:00 pm

“The first kidnappings happened two hundred years before. Some years it was two boys taken, some years two girls, sometimes one of each. But if at first the choices seemed random, soon the pattern became clear. One was always beautiful and good, the child every parent wanted as their own. The other was homely and odd, an outcast from birth. An opposing pair, plucked from youth and spirited away.”

This year, best friends Sophie and Agatha are about to discover where all the lost children go: the fabled School for Good & Evil, where ordinary boys and girls are trained to be fairy tale heroes and villains. As the most beautiful girl in Gavaldon, Sophie has dreamed of being kidnapped into an enchanted world her whole life. With her pink dresses, glass slippers, and devotion to good deeds, she knows she’ll earn top marks at the School for Good and graduate a storybook princess. Meanwhile Agatha, with her shapeless black frocks, wicked pet cat, and dislike of nearly everyone, seems a natural fit for the School for Evil.

But when the two girls are swept into the Endless Woods, they find their fortunes reversed—Sophie’s dumped in the School for Evil to take Uglification, Death Curses, and Henchmen Training, while Agatha finds herself in the School For Good, thrust amongst handsome princes and fair maidens for classes in Princess Etiquette and Animal Communication.. But what if the mistake is actually the first clue to discovering who Sophie and Agatha really are…?

The School for Good & Evil is an epic journey into a dazzling new world, where the only way out of a fairy tale is to live through one.

It's going to be a long excruciating wait before Supernatural returns this fall for its ninth season but hopefully this little piece about Dean Winchester will help ease the wait. If you're a Supernatural fan, you probably already know most of these things. Still it's fun to take note of the lighter side of Dean considering how rough the past eight seasons have been.
Dean Loves Pie

There are at least 18 episodes of Supernatural that references pie and Dean's obsession with it. While the running gag to Dean's love for pie is that he rarely gets to eat it, "pie" is also used as a metaphor whenever the Winchester brothers talk about an ideal normal life or "apple pie life."

which often makes Sam uncomfortable. He's happily encountered it in various motels as seen in "Houses of the Holy," "Sin City"and "Two and a Half Men," in which he enjoys it while babysitting.

Hunted by Kevin Hearne is HERE! book 6 in The Iron Druid Chronicles

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 12:56:00 am

For a two-thousand-year-old Druid, Atticus O’Sullivan is a pretty fast runner. Good thing, because he’s being chased by not one but two goddesses of the hunt—Artemis and Diana—for messing with one of their own. Dodging their slings and arrows, Atticus, Granuaile, and his wolfhound Oberon are making a mad dash across modern-day Europe to seek help from a friend of the Tuatha Dé Danann. His usual magical option of shifting planes is blocked, so instead of playing hide-and-seek, the game plan is . . . run like hell.

Crashing the pantheon marathon is the Norse god Loki. Killing Atticus is the only loose end he needs to tie up before unleashing Ragnarok—AKA the Apocalypse. Atticus and Granuaile have to outfox the Olympians and contain the god of mischief if they want to go on living—and still have a world to live in.

FOX Sets Fall 2013 Premiere Dates: Early Starts for 'X Factor,' 'Glee' and New Shows

Senior Writer, BuddyTV
FOX is the fourth network to announce its fall premiere dates and the schedule features early premieres for a number ofshows. While the other networks are waiting until Monday, September 23 to start the TV season, most of FOX's shows will already be on the air by then.

Check Out All of Our Fall 2013 Coverage>>

It all begins with the season 3 premiere of The X Factor on Wednesday, September 11 at 8pm featuring new judges Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio. It will be followed by the season finale of Masterchef.

The following weeks sees Bones return for season 9 on Monday, September 16 at 8pm followed by the series premiere of Sleepy Hollow, which now makes it the very first new show to debut in the fall season.

The next day the Tuesday night comedy line-up will begin with new shows Dads (from Family Guymastermind Seth MacFarlane) and Andy Samberg's Brooklyn Nine-Nine, along with the returns of New Girland The Mindy ProjectGlee season 5 will begin on Thursday, September 19 after The X Factor.

Later in the month, Masterchef Juniors debuts Friday, September 27 while the animation domination line-up with The Simpsons and Family Guy starts September 29.

FOX will get interrupted in late October for the baseball playoffs and World Series, but the second half of fall begins Monday, November 4 with the premiere of futuristic cop drama Almost Human at 9pm.

Finally, FOX's extended, double-barrel premiere season concludes on Friday, November 8 when Bonesfinds a new home at 8pm, followed by the season premiere of Raising Hope and the military brothers comedy Enlisted.

Here's a complete list of dates for the FOX 2013 premieres.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11
8pm: The X Factor
9pm: Masterchef finale

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12
8pm: The X Factor

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16
8pm: Bones
9pm: Sleepy Hollow (NEW)

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
8pm: Dads (NEW)
8:30pm: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (NEW)
9pm: New Girl
9:30pm: The Mindy Project

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19
9pm: Glee

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
8pm: Masterchef Juniors (NEW)

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
8pm: The Simpsons
8:30pm: Bob's Burgers
9pm: Family Guy
9:30pm: American Dad

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4
8pm: Almost Human (NEW)

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8
8pm: Bones (new night)
9pm: Raising Hope
9:30pm: Enlisted (NEW)

Of course this is just the plan. I suspect there's a chance that, if Dads and Brooklyn Nine-Nine bomb as badly as I think they will, FOX will cancel them quickly and them move Raising Hope and Enlisted to Tuesdays after baseball, leaving Fridays open for reruns of Almost Human. It seems a lot like when NBC said they were moving Community to Fridays, and then didn't because all their new comedies failed. But we'll have to wait to find out.

Phoenix by Elizabeth Richards is HERE! book 2 in the Black City Series!

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 8:50:00 am

Ash and Natalie are just starting to build a life together when things in the United Sentry States go from bad to worse. Ash and Natalie find themselves at the center of turmoil when dictator Purian Rose threatens Natalie’s life unless Ash votes in favor of Rose’s Law—a law that will send Darklings and other dissenters to a deadly concentration camp known as the Tenth.

When Ash can’t bring himself to trade Natalie’s life for those of millions of Darklings, her fate is sealed. Enter Elijah Theroux, the handsome Bastet boy Natalie once saved from her mother’s labs, where he’d been experimented on and tortured. It was his venom the Sentry used to create the lethal Golden Haze, the heart of the government conspiracy that led to Black City’s uprising and Ash’s rebirth as the Phoenix, the face of the rebellion. Elijah is back and Ash doesn’t like him; it’s clear he’s taken with Natalie, and Ash fears she may have feelings for him as well.

But Elijah also may have the answer to taking down Purian Rose for good—a powerful weapon called the Ora. Ash, Natalie and Elijah just have to escape Black City undetected to find it. But fleeing the city and finding this weapon (if it even exists) are easier said than done, and the quest could tear Ash and Natalie apart, even pushing them into the arms of others.

This enthralling sequel to Black City is just as absorbing, delicious and steamy as the first book, leaving readers hungry for the series conclusion

Genre: Paranormal Romance/Horror
Length: 280 Pages

BLURB

Adrianna Bristol stood before her grandmother's antique mirror and stared at the black velvet cloth covering it. She just couldn't believe her nana was gone. The mirror had hung in that exact same spot for the last twenty years, never once had it been moved from the alcove. Adrianna remembered the stern words of her grandmother when she was a child. Annabel Bristol had told her, "promise me Adrianna that you will never uncover the mirror. No matter what it may whisper to you, you must never remove the cover." Adrianna laid her hand against the cool velvet which covered the glass. As she walked away the mirror whispered to her, "you belong to me now. You belong to me." A four hundred year old curse has plagued the Bristol family since the 1600's. A curse born out of a love so rich and a betrayal so deep, that time itself has no power to stop it. Only Adrianna has the courage to find the truth behind the curse and set her family free. But will the Mirror release its darkest secrets?

EXCERPT

It was cold, raining, and not an ordinary rain by any standard of the definition. The sky grew darker and more morose while the day progressed.

How bizzare the purple backdrop of the horizon is with those dominating and uncanny shades of green; nearly glowing like emerald swashes amongst the billowing black clouds like some warped artist’s canvas. I have never seen a sky so wicked in Bristol Bay.
The winds increased allowing the day to give way to evening, and the sky’s appearance grew wicked. The moment my plane touched down upon the tarmac I felt a sense of relief. I was finally home and never so glad to see the tiny airport.

The driving force of this rain is making it difficult to see.

Rain was not uncommon in Bristol Bay. In fact, it seemed to rain here more than the sun was given the chance to shine. Growing up in a small town and never having lived anywhere else, I grew accustomed to the strange weather. We all did. It was even expected. A day without rain just didn't seem right. This rain was different somehow, more dismal and bone-chilling that usual. My phone rang unexpectedly and somehow knew something was wrong. I could hear the tears in his voice before my brother whispered that she was gone. I could not understand how this happened.

My nana lived a long and fruitful life and died at the age of ninety-five. I could not honestly recall her ever being sick a day in her life. She did whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted and no one would dare to argue with her.

How could she be gone? It was only three days ago I saw her last.

As always, she was the picture of perfect health. As I thought about the day I had lunch with her, it suddenly occurred to me how frantic she had behaved.

“Adrianna, please don’t go to Paris,” she had pleaded. “I don’t want you to leave. You need to stay here, in Bristol Bay where you will be safe.”

“Oh Nana, I will only be gone for few days at best. This restoration in Paris will not take nearly as long as the last. I only have to sign off on the last few design changes that need to be done and then I will be home. You will see. It will be like I never left,” I told her.

The days leading up to my flight, Nana seemed uneasy. I could barely initiate a conversation with her before she would burst into tears. I found myself avoiding her for fear of making her cry. She kept to herself, rummaging through old boxes and photographs, rearranging the pictures on the mantle, and talking to herself. None of those things were unusual. Nana was known to stand in front of the mirror and speak to it as if she expected it to answer her. The day my bags were packed to leave I saw her at the bottom of the staircase whispering to the mirror and the old piece of black velvet covering it. Anyone else would have thought Annabel Bristol was senile. To me, she was just being herself.

I told her I would only be gone for a few days and promised she would be the first one seen when my project was complete. I kissed her good-bye and left her standing in the bay window watching me with the curtains slightly parted. Even when turning the sharp corner at the end of the driveway, she was still standing there in the large bay window with the light cascading over her shoulders from the kerosene lamp. I wondered why she wanted me to remain so badly as I boarded my plane but my thoughts quickly turned to the restoration project and what needed to be completed. It never crossed my mind until my phone rang.
Could she have somehow known that she was going to die?
